A series of loosely interwoven sequnces of chinese table-tennis players visiting Scandinavia after China's years of isolation during the Cultural Revolution. The filmdoes not present any of the games chronologically, but focuses on the unique quialities of the Chinese players: their strokes, rhythms and styles. The shots are primitive in the sense that the cinematographers, Henning Camre and Mikael Salomon, had limited film stock at their disposal, but this just intenified their focus on the game's movement and beauty, while the soundtrack experiments with fragments of music, voiceover and text. The soundtrack's minimalist piano music is played by Leth himself.
